Jerry is a search and management consultant with an international track record in both private and public firms of over thirty years. He has lived and worked in Europe, the Middle East and Far East and served US parent companies.
His first career was in logistics, including five years based in Singapore where Jerry latterly managed a cruise shipping operation. He became a headhunter in the early 1990s and has worked for some of the most prestigious names in the industry, including Korn Ferry International, Boyden and Norman Broadbent International. His last full-time role was as Managing Director of Veredus, the largest UK-based search and interim management consultancy.
For the last five years he has run his own consultancy business, Alcedo Advisory, undertaking a variety of change and improvement projects for clients as well as searches, particularly those for Non Executive Directors. He has held interim roles as COO and Managing Partner for search firms needing experience and guidance.
With an MA in English Language & Literature from Oxford University, Jerry has been a member of the CIPD, the CILT as well as the CBI and the IOD. He has served as a Non Executive Director on the board of Essentia Ltd, the commercial spin-off business of Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital Trust. He acts as a mentor for the Kilfinan Group, currently advising the CEO of an animal welfare charity.
He enjoys undertaking operational audits for organisations which have lost their way and these may lead to strategic and process improvement projects which Jerry can implement, often leading the in-house team personally .
Jerry is a strong creative problem solver with a special sense of humour, manifested by the absurdist novel he has written - entitled "The Headhunter". Highly competitive, he has played a number of sports throughout his life and remains active in those as long as his age and body will allow.
